Whole party liked the food! But atmosphere was somewhat dead. Not good for dates, really good for cheaper hangouts in larger groups.

The food here is Bursting with Flavor. Whoever they have in the kitchen has passion for cooking. This is our second visit and I've been able to sample 5 dishes besides my own. Shrimp & pineapple fried rice for me tonight. I always go 4 medium spice anything more would require a fire truck lol. Seriously. The amount of spice is just right. I recommend this place to everyone with a taste for Thai food. Small place big on gr8 dishes.

Awesome food, and great service. The spring rolls are definitely worth coming back for. Just check the photos, and at $4 best deal around!

I used to come here all the time after work when I lived in MN... I recently came back to visit and the food is still awesome! Curry crab dish and the papaya salad Lao style is my favorite here! Also, their pho is the best around this area in taste, portion, and price. Customer service used to be better than now, could use some work but everything went okay on my visits. The food tastes authentic and the atmosphere is nice and quiet. Sometimes the food takes time but in my experiences, it wasn't too long to the point where I want to leave. I haven't tried everything but I will definitely be back for more!

These guys have fulfilled my thai cravings many times. Ingredients are clearly very fresh. Like homemade fresh. Very friendly. Reasonably priced for what you get.

honestly , i never thought id be back , had a bad experience with the pho being too salty and that drove me away but i had to come back for the papaya salad ( lao style) and all the recent good reviews.. there papaya salad is the best in town and i have tried almost every spot there is .. also had raw laab. which could of been alittle bit fresher but it was also good. i don't know how much they have changed since i havent been back for almost a year now but i know the papaya is always consistent and really good .. i will be back to try other items on the menu very soon .. will update soon

I know, I know. After our disastrous catering issue, why did we go back here? Because they're the only local place nearby that makes belly pork and good papaya salad and other Southeast Asian foods. Lemongrass is too Americanized for me with snotty waiters too. So, after I left my previous review, I have gone back here a few times. Takeout? Wow, I came 20 mins later and got my food right on time. We came here on a Friday night and it was the busiest I've seen them and the service improved A LOT. We were so afraid that because it was so busy that we wouldn't get our food in time, but we got our food really fast and the lady that was helping us was so helpful and friendly. Staff seems to change all the time, so I guess it depends on who you get, but I can tell they really do try. Their food is pretty good. Their papaya salad has improved tremendously from the first time they opened (before it was too sweet), but now I love it, and you get a lot too. So now I go here more than the more popular Thanh Vi next door because I love Thai food more than Vietnamese. Still love Thanh Vi too, but wanted to support this local restaurant as well.

Enjoyed our lunch here. We were greeted with complimentary soup (delicious) and bottled water. Sesame pork was not our favorite. A little dry and a bit expensive for a couple of strips of pork. Seemed more like an appetizer than an entree. The cashew chicken was awesome and we would definitely order again. Especially enjoyed the condiments on the table. Plenty of options to customize the dishes. ADDITIONAL REVIEW We've been here about a half dozen times and it never disappoints. Lunch special prices are great and they are not smaller portions! How about that? They've had a special on the board lately, "ginger chicken." It is AMAZING!

The place is good but the new chef puts barely any crab in the curry crab it used to be great large pieces now barely any I think they're trying to cut corners and down on expenses making the customer foot the bill

I come here all the time bc it's my daughters favorite Thai place. The food is great considering how cheap it is compared to other Thai places. Their curry is good, bamboo salad is one of my favorites, and I'm a big fan of their spring rolls. Their pho has always been disappointing. It's only ok, but I don't know if pho is a big Thai staple back in the homeland. Pad Thai is ok. I was pleasantly surprised by their fried calamari. At first it didn't look very appealing but once I had a bite, I couldn't stop eating it. It was light and not greasy, and the sauce that came with it complimented it very well.

I should have known to go on Yelp first before dining here this time around. Just like some prior diners who bought the coupon on Restaurant.com , Thai Cuisine is no longer accepting them. What a bummer! We asked to speak with the manager, but we were told there were no manager at the moment. For that they get a negative one star. Now on to my review of the food. It's a hit and a miss. I highly recommend the papaya salad Thai style, one of the best in MN. The clear noodles were good and spring rolls was decent (the sauce need some improvement). We did not like the tom yum soup and beef laab, they were soaked in sodium, as if trying to cover up the fact that it was not fresh. Overall a three from me.

We moved to Brooklyn Park a year ago and quickly started trying out restaurants in the area. This is one of the first places we tried. We ordered Pho for the first time and really enjoyed it. We've since tried pho at 3 other places in the area and they have all paled in comparison. The pho here was fresh, fragrant, and the portion was generous. We also had a stir fry which was good and pad Thai which wasn't bad but not the style I prefer. I can see why some people are turned off by the modest interior but I care mostly about the quality of the food. It seems the most authentic of a lot of the Asian I've had around the Twin Cities.

Nothing special about this place to really write about. We were the only customers but our food took awhile. We ordered beef laab (which I wouldn't order again), special fried rice, beef stir fry (tastes just like something you can get from Chinese take-out), chicken wings, and panang curry (not good, get it elsewhere). The place is called Thai Cuisine but I don't think it's food is authentic. I'd recommend you to go elsewhere if you want Thai food. The decor is odd - there are two huge pictures of a little girl and I believe her name is printed on the pictures. WEIRD... the bathroom floor was REALLY sticky. GROSS.

Worst. Service. Ever. Decent food and unique flavors, but the service is absolutely, totally atrocious. We finished our dinner 40 minutes ago still waiting to see the waitress or get a check. The people at the table next to us complained out loud they wanted a dessert but were too afraid to order it because they'd never get it. Pitiful is all I can say.
(1)Shashi K.
Worst experience ever. We ordered something and got something else in return. The waitresses were very unprofessional and unexperienced. Our order didn't arrive for several minutes as well. It was like they didn't know how to send out starters first than the main dishes. The food was presented well, but most of it was not worth my money. It was expensive Thai food without the value. There are several over Thai restaurants around the area I'd rather go to.

(Sorry. My review is 9 days late) Came in on a Tuesday evening at 8pm. The hubs and I were the only ones there. I always get nervous when there's little business. the hostess already greeted us so it was too late to U-turn toward the exit. Atmosphere: nothing fancy but also not overly "Asian" with decor, smell and sound. Clean. Open for a small place. Food: Lao papaya salad rocked. Large portion. Caution there's fish and shrimp sauce which i love. Even the hubs who's not a shrimp sauce fan had some and liked it. It wasn't too overpowering. I only wish they "muddled" it a bit more to get the flavor to absorb. Tom yum was a little sad. Cute display with the flamed pot but there wasn't much content. I requested shrimp and fish but that's all that was in it. Hubs had the pork. The skin was not crispy and crunchy. It was like eating a frozen Charleston chew. I thought I was gonna break a tooth. Did not care for the sauce it came with either. Also Spice level is true to taste. Oh and did you know you get bottled water instead of tap? Service: she was nice and checked in occasionally but she better have bc we were the only ones there! (Ok there was one take out order) Overall, I think I'd come back for another try. If i get a chance for lunch, their lunch menu seemed ridiculously awesome ($5 pad Thai). Some compared this against Lemongrass and I'd have to say both foods are good (maybe LG a bit more fancy) but the price at Thai Cuisine wins. Also something to note, actual hours differ than what's posted on yelp. Closed at 9 not 10pm. Check the time if you're coming later in evening.

Be aware that this restaurant is NOT ACCEPTING the Restaurant,Com coupons that are currently being sold. I bought one a few days ago and went tonight, there's a bIG sign in front of the register that says they do not take these coupons. They are in a dispute with restaurant.com . Too bad they are still selling the coupons!!! Very unfortunate business practice. Have been there several time but will not go again. Several other Thai places to choose from.

We tried this place last week and I have nothing bad to say about the place. Contrary to other reviewers' experiences, we had a Restaurant.com voucher and I asked if they would take it before we ordered. The server said yes. No problem there. We had a pot of tea. I don't drink a lot of tea, but it was good, though I think it could've been a little hotter. We had egg rolls - they were awesome. They were crispy, but not greasy. You get 4 pieces - I suppose it's 2 egg rolls cut in half. We also tried a spicy tuna roll. It came with wasabi, pickled ginger, soy sauce - the usual stuff. I'm no sushi expert, but it was good. Nothing too fancy, but good. We each had curry. I think my husband had yellow and I had green. He had a "0" spice and I had a 2. I think he would have preferred the green too, but we both enjoyed our meals. Good sized portions. I had to get half of mine to-go. Our Restaurant.com voucher came off our check with no problem. The prices were good, especially compared to other Thai places. The interior is nothing special, but had some good music playing. The server was fantastic - very friendly and helpful. I would note that the menu on their website is only a fraction of what we saw when we were handed a menu. I think it was 5-6 pages long. Many options. For the record, I had to create an account just to post about this place. Our experience was quite good. We will go back.

We have another winner, in the "I can't believe there's Thai food this good in Minnesota" sweepstakes. The proximity of this to Thanh Vi also makes this place a participant in some kind of food magic epicenter in Brooklyn Park. It ranks Bangkok Thai deli in STP. That is no mean feat. If this place were magically teleported to NYC I'd still probably pick it over many many others. The menu is smaller than Bangkok Deli, the atmosphere is a step up in relaxation factor and niceness, and the food is every bit as shimp paste, mango, basil, whole fish, you-can't-make-larb-without-tripe-duhhh and "thai hot please" = 6 out of 5 - in short it's legit and luscious. (Waiter told me they're scaling down the heat to please people, but if you express interest in real heat, they'll bring it!) It's a terrific alternative to have, and a great great magical ace to have up your sleeve when you're showing true food nuts around town. Oh, bear in mind this place is unholy CHEAP. Service is nice, room is endearing and tidy, let other people look for white tablecloth fuss and carry the smirk of knowing better. PLEASE MN, please. Go beyond the cream cheese wonton.

Went here as they opened at 11 am. My daughter and I had pork fried rice and Lao style papaya salad, our check was $12.33 which I consider reasonable. The waitress was really nice, she started us off with a complementary green salad w/fresh oriental dressing and bottled purified water which was awesome. Our food came out within 5-10 minutes. It's was an amazing first experience, we'll probably be back soon.

Pretty good sushi for the price, and $5 for the PHO is great! still enough for at least two meals. Their wontons are wanty but over all you get what you pay for in price. The facility was clean and the waitress pleasant at least. A great place for a quick meal.

This place is alright , I went there few time bc I got the groupon. So we had pho, some pork and eggrolls . I also love the fried rice bc it got a lot of veggies with it . I would go back if I want Thai food.
(4)Paige V.
Crab curry was good. Ordered sticky rice with mango for dessert and the rice was crunchy at the edges, not sure if that was intentional. Ordered a fish to go and wanted the small, but they only had size medium (I think they should have billed me for the small since it was on them that they ran out). Restaurant was almost empty. Bathroom floors are sticky.

1/29/14 - I went back for Tum Yum. I was disappointed from previous visits. The TumYum was lacking some ingreidents: a little chicken and mushrooms, the taste didn't 'pop'. It tasted 'flat' Theyt have eliminated the special lunch menu. I was the only person in the resturant for lunch! It's obvious there's been a change in management / chef.

I have had 3 bad experiences here. First time, I ordered 2 of the fishermen's lucky catch (probably the most expensive item on the menu). 1 was good but 1 was mushy like it's been dead for awhile. Ended up throwing it away! Second time, ordered the same fish. Paid with credit card. Then they come back out telling me they are out of fish. Had to get my money back. Third time which was the next day, asked if they had any fish. They said they did. I ordered it. They used my credit card to ring it up. Gave me my card back then they said it didn't go through. So they rang it up again. I signed and it ran out of paper so I didn't get a receipt. The fish was overly spicy and not good. Couple days later I check my credit card statement to see that they have charged me twice the amount! ! I'm disputing the charge with my credit card. I will not be back. I've given this place 3 chances!! No more! ! Gets 1 star because I can't give 0!!

Would not recommended this Thai restaurant. Food is overpriced, under portioned, and just not good. Service was fine, but I got the wrong item in my takeout order. I ordered spring rolls with pork and shrimp, but was given the vegetarian spring rolls instead. I did not realize this until I got home of the mistake. Many other and better options around this area for Thai.

Thai Cuisine is located in the back of a small strip mall in BP. You won't see it from the road since it's rather hidden in the back. It's a small family owned place and wasn't crowded at all when I went for dinner. I don't think many people know it's there! You should go though, especially if you're S.E. Asian! The Lao and Thai style papaya salad is the "BOMB". And I haven't used that kind of slang since the 1990s, so you know I must be serious. The service is excellent, a very attentive and polite young man catered to us. Overall, a very pleasant experience in dining!
(4)Ashley M.
Wow! So when I read reviews we just had to try it. And honestly, I still wasn't expecting much. BUT this place definitely came through! We ordered beef egg rolls, fresh spring rolls, pork fried rice, chicken fried rice, and chicken pad Thai...total?? Only $30! And the meat was great quality, even for me (typically I only eat meat I purchase & prepare myself). The only bummer is their food is not very spicy. At ALL! So we will request that next time. But we will def being going back!!!
(4)Rex V.
Stopped in for lunch. Very slow service due to the fact that there was only one person working up front. Not sure where the help was. The server was literally running around. The food was ok. Ordered the lunch special for $5. Wasn't that spicy. If you like spicy, order your dish with a level 5. May go back and give it another shot.

Pretty darn good!! My husband and I needed to grab dinner and he wanted to try a new restaurant. Good thing we came!! It's definitely a smaller restaurant. Maybe 10 tables total? There was only one server working, but she did a great job serving us. Tended to us, let us know that food would be coming. For just 2 people, we ordered way too much. We got the papaya salad- Lao style, catfish laab, chicken wings, red curry chicken and one of the two seafood dishes offered on the menu. Everything tasted great except for the seafood dish. It came out cold which my husband was not expecting. I barely touched it since I was too full from everything else we ate. Portions are huge!!! We took 3 boxes to go Price was more than reasonable. I think our bill was mid-40... I've paid close to $25 for papaya salad and a noodle dish from Lemongrass down the street. Will definitely come back for more! So glad to have found this!!
(4)Brenda V.
The food is good, service is great, and overall I enjoyed myself
(4)David S.
This is not the perfect place but the food was good and the service was excellent. The menu had pictures of the menu items that really didn't look like what was served. My wife didn't like the custard that she ordered for dessert so she won't be ordering that again but we will be going back,
(3)Ryan D.
I made a yelp account so that I could review this restaurant. Normally I only read reviews. Not a good sign. The sign on the door says 'spring special - free spring water, salad.' Three of us walk in, we ask for a table for four, a friend will be joining us in a few minutes. We sit down. The salad and bottles of spring water are brought to us immediately, without a word. A few minutes later, but before our friend arrives, we're asked if we want to order. We say no, we're waiting for a friend (possibly could have told that because we had not touched the salad or water yet, even.) the friend arrives, and literally as he sits down, we're being asked if we want to order now. We say he needs a minute. Exactly a minute later he is back. So we order beverages and appetizers. (I get wontons, also ordered are pork satay, spring rolls, and egg rolls. They are out of pork satay, but have chicken, so he gets that instead.) As soon as he has relayed the order to the kitchen, he brings the beverages, and asks for our entree order. Two of us, myself included, order pad thai, pork , spice 2 on a 0-5. One orders beef pad thai, spice 4. The other orders rad naa. The wontons, and egg rolls, well, they tasted about like they do out of the grocery store frozen food section. The chicken satay is deep fried instead of grilled, which is odd. The spring rolls were good. However, they came out in an odd manner. My wontons came in under 3 minutes. Then 5 minutes later, the egg rolls came. Then in a few more minutes, the satay. Then last, 15-20 minutes later, the spring rolls. Almost immediately after, the pad thai's come. But not the rad naa. By the time it arrives a few minutes later, the two of us with pork pad thai 2, have pushed it away, because it is bad, tastes more like lo mein, and has no spice at all. Waiter ignores this, and when he finally brings a refill on my soda, asks if everything is okay. We tell him no. He asks if he can get us anything else, but our friends are nearly done, so we say no. We then eventually have to have one of our party go back and yell into the kitchen/staff area to get someone to bring us a bill, when we have sat for 15 minutes, done and unhappy already. The bill includes the bad uneaten entrees. We have to argue with the server, as we may have gotten their version of what we ordered, but to us, something that tastes like spiceless mushy lo mein is not pad thai, and that is what we got. They eventually drop the charge. But ask why the third person, who got the beef pad thai 4, didn't complain. He says, well, there was no spice, but I like lo mein, so it was okay, and i was really hungry. We won't be returning.

This place just opened a little while ago and I've already eaten here more times than I want to admit. My husband loves the Panang Curry with Chicken. I enjoyed the Pad See Ei, Pad Kapao and the egg rolls but my Favorite is the Khao Poon. I get it to-go at least once a week. It is soooo much food, It easily lasts two meals, and for $5.95 what a deal! Try this place out, you will not be disappointed.
(4)Tony Q.
I've been here twice. My first experience was terrible and thought I'd give it another try. Big waste of money. Go to Lemongrass instead! My first time, I ordered Pad Thai and said no peanuts, they made it with peanuts because they forgot. I remember no apology either which was a huge red flag for me. The 2nd time I ordered Pad See Ew, and the girl said, "Oh, number 19?" I just agreed cause I was trying to have a conversation with my girlfriend. I also ordered eggrolls for appetizer. The eggrolls didn't come out right away, only after the main dishes were served. The dish they made was incorrect, and from what I remember, they took the same plate and poured the soup liquid over the same plate and just re-served the same damn plate! So frustrated with that type of service. We also ordered Sticky Rice and Mango. The rice was frozen and heated in the microwave, but wasn't microwaved correctly so some of the center was a little hard. If you want real Thai food go to Lemongrass which is close by.
(1)Evan K.
I've eaten at a lot of Thai places, and I have to say this is some of the BEST Thai food I've ever had! The Pad Thai was phenomenal. Light, flavorful, and although I can't tell you exactly why, the best I've ever tried. Panang chicken curry was excellent as well. Very reasonable prices and good size portions. Check it out!

Why does this dinky little place in a strip mall in Brooklyn Park (which you can see from the street if you're on 85th) have (some of) the best Thai food in the Twin Cities? I don't know, but it does, IMO. Better than Roat Osha. Better than Tum Rup Thai. Better than Sawatdee. Better than Taste of Thailand (Fridley). Great papaya salad as others note. Great pad Thai (a little sweet (normal), which I like, but my wife does not, so if you don't like your pad Thai a little sweet, ask them to lower the sugar). Great wings. All appropriately spicy 4. Nice spicy burn with great flavor. Soup (complimentary) was very good. Deep fried banana desert (complimentary) was very good. Cream cheese wontons, were average. Drank water. Lunch as described, $23.59 + $6 tip. Great. Highly recommended.

This is amazing! I love the papaya salad. Its really good. The curry crab is delicious. The service was excellent.
